Future Students
The PGIAR admits nearly 200 students each year in eight degree, diploma and certificate courses in following disciplines.
- Archaeology
- Management and Conservation of Archaeological Heritage
- Heritage Studies
- Museology
Its programmes include research projects, workshops, field schools and seminars. The resources of the Institute are well utilized for outreach programmes.
The PGIAR's main educational programme is its postgraduate diploma and degree programme, which admits over 150 students each year.
This is 'continuing education' for persons in employment, such as teachers, and professionals who are currently engaged in related fields or those who have any interest in following these courses.
Research Degrees
The following training opportunities are facilitated by the PGIAR for those who wish to qualify, gather knowledge or develop skills in Archaeology or related fields.
These academic activities are purely self motivated basis and qualify for degrees by submission of dissertation and a viva voce examination carried out on a research subject approved by the PGIAR.
- M.Phil. in Archaeeology
- Ph.D. in Archaeology
The PGIAR also offers a one year technical education programme to train artifact and mural conservators. It is a certificate course in Conservation of Cultural Property.
