Introduction
The Masters Degree program in Archaeology has been designed with a considerable component of field and practical work and was originally intended to develop a body of academically qualified professional Archaeologists. Candidates who passed the Diploma in Archeology with a merit, can upgrade to MSc. degree in Archaeology.

Course Structure
To be eligible for the degree, all students should obtain a total of 40 credits. 15 credits from Postgraduate Diploma in Archaeology, and further 10 credits from assignments. The remaining 15 credits should be obtained from 5 of the above course units.
The Title of candidate’s proposed project should be submitted by a form, before starting the second unit, in order to get the approval from the academic staff.
Dissertation should be completed under supervision of appointed supervisors and handed over within 6 months after completion of the examination.
Duration of the Course
Two years (twenty four months) in duration, starting from January each year. The Hours of lecture are as follows:
Saturday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Sunday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Location – Classes are generally held at the PGIAR premises.
Students should complete attendance at least 70% of the lecture sessions. Facilities are provided for classes outside the university premises, when required.

Entry Requirements
• A first special degree in Archaeology
• A first degree and a Merit pass from the Postgraduate Diploma which conducted by the PGIAR.
